Post Secondary Services
The vision of the W̱SB Post Secondary Department is to support Saanich adult learners in pursuing academic training that helps them achieve their educational goals. In doing so, graduates strengthen their employability and contribute their skills and knowledge to the benefit of the Saanich People.
Our team assists Tsawout, Tsartlip, and Tseycum students with applications to colleges and universities, and provides funding or sponsorship for their studies.
Students may apply to a range of programs at institutions such as Camosun College, the University of Victoria (UVic), Vancouver Island University (VIU), and the University of British Columbia (UBC). For details on specific or available programs, please contact us.
To be eligible for funding, a program must require English 12 and be at least eight months in length.

Our Partner Programs
The W̱SÁNEĆ School Board (W̱SB) and the W̱SÁNEĆ College maintains strong partnerships with the University of Victoria (UVic) and Camosun College, grounded in W̱SÁNEĆ culture, land, and the SENĆOŦEN language.
Together, we are committed to advancing community-based education that strengthens local capacity and creates pathways for student success. Through Collaboration Agreements with both Camosun College and the University of Victoria, W̱SB works closely to design and deliver programs that reflect the values and priorities of our community. In addition, W̱SÁNEĆ College offers on-site post-secondary opportunities in partnership with UVic and Camosun, making higher education more accessible and culturally connected for our learners.

The Indigenous College Prep (ICP) program helps you gain the academic skills and recognized credentials needed to pursue college or university-level studies. Taught at W̱SÁNEĆ College, this supportive program is designed for Indigenous students preparing for higher education and careers in human services or related fields.

The 10-month Indigenous Community Wellness program prepares you to be a culturally grounded, positive role model through hands-on learning and land-based teachings. Delivered at W̱SÁNEĆ College, the program empowers you to build relationships and support community members in accessing essential programs and services.

W̱,SENĆOŦEN¸ISTW̱ Program of Language Revitalization
W̱,SENĆOŦEN¸ISTW̱ Program of Language Revitalization
This is a full-time, immersive language program focused on building new SENĆOŦEN speakers while strengthening cultural knowledge and connection. Beginning Fall, at the W̱SÁNEĆ College, this laddering program starts with a one-year certificate and can lead to a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Language Proficiency through UVic.

The Uncle Gabe Bartleman Bursary was established in honor of late uncle Gabe who believed in Education and the well-being of our Saanich People. The deadline for this bursary is February 28th of each year.
This award is for community members enrolled full-time at Camosun College and are living on one of the WSÁNEC Bands. The award is meant to encourage students funded by W̱SB to achieve well in their studies & to consider their future contributions to their communities.
