The emergency closing of a school is a rare occurrence; nevertheless, circumstances such as a heavy snowfall or an extended power failure can demand that such a decision be made. The Administrator, W̱SB would like you to be informed that should such a decision be necessary, the procedure outlined below will be followed:

CFAX 1070, Q100.3 will be provided with details regarding the closure for immediate broadcast.
School buses will operate their regularly scheduled runs at the time of the closure.
Students will be permitted to leave school:
a) to go home
b) to go to the home of a previously designated friend or neighbor;
c) special arrangements will be made for handicapped.

If none of the above is possible, your child, your child/ren will be kept at school until picked up by you or a designated person. The decision to close the school will not be taken lightly. If such a decision becomes necessary, we would hope that the degree of understanding, tolerance and cooperation that generally emerges at such times becomes evident.

On the other hand, should you have special concerns regarding the above procedure, please call the school to enable us to attend to the matter before an emergency occurs. Please note that telephone calls to home or work in the event of such an emergency may not be possible.
