The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate or provide the following:

1. Must be a grade 6 – 8 student of W̱SÁNEĆ ancestry.  The candidate must provide a written statement of W̱SÁNEĆ heritage/history.
2. The recipient must have been involved in school activities. Please state your involvement in the written application.
3. The recipient must demonstrate cultural pride along with the values of the W̱SÁNEĆ people (honesty, respect, caring, trust, and sharing). Please provide an example in your written application on how you have demonstrated cultural pride and/or values.
4. The recipient must provide at least one letter of support from a teacher, counsellor or coach.
5. The recipient must be a registered student in School District 63.

Students who feel that they qualify for this award should submit their written application to the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board Selection Committee. The committee is comprised of Indigenous Education Staff from School District 63 and representatives from the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board.
